PISO is a collaborative interdisciplinary mobile platform. Our medium is the body. We make interventions in public spaces, the public sphere and unexpected placements as a way to generate social experiments. We document and archive what we set out to do. We like to create dialogue about process and make live experiences and memories together as a way to intercept or intervene “reality,” which might change social behavior or “the rules of the game” even if only momentarily.
Deriving from Piso Research, the course above, Cuerpo y Ciudad, sets out to explore and experience body and city, sparking a dialogue through doing, inhabiting and reactivating spaces in the personal body / in the public space. Spaces considered are those displaced and forgotten that abound in Santurce, Río Piedras and Puerto Rico.
The practice and dialogue of 'outside/in - inside/out' is largely the anchor of our research. For this we will rely on basic practices that integrate mind, body and lead us to reflection. We play with the many possibilities technology offers to document and archive experimentation. The process becomes as crucial as the construction in space or product. All parts of the process are revealed and considered. We learn collaboratively and interdisciplinary.
This laboratory desires to persuade everyday citizens, students, artists to respond proactively to our inner and outer landscapes and ecologies. This workshop desires to make us aware to our right to the city and how by changing the modes of production in our way of life and praxis, we also change the city we live and move in, as well as ourselves.

Like a map or reflection, these 'outside' spaces move us and touch 'inside' spaces, within us.

Ciudad Proyectada
Ciudad Proyectada fue una serie de murales proyectados en video sobre el vidrio reflectante de mi ventana. Las reflexiones y diálogos transitaban entre el rol del arte urbano en la espectaculiarizacion urbana (Debord) y lo efímero, desde la imagen en movimiento, como resistente a la redistritacion de la gentrificacion.
